My thoughts ...

It is the kind and the degree of regulation that defines the quality of life and the experience of freedom within communities
Welcome migrants, says Leoluca Orlando, the Mayor of the Sicilian Palermo. The man fought against the mafia in a previous life, and sticks his and out to the boat people today. ' They have the right to opt for another country. ' His solution: abolish the residence permit. http://www.demorgen.be/buitenland/-europa-maakt-zich-schuldig-aan-genocide-en-slavernij-ba3b0e2f/
Freedom is at the very heart of a democratic state. Good governance is a matter of good will. These are the conditions for the restoration of the faith in community and righteous prosperity. - Leo N, General Director Of The Think tank Itinera http://www.tijd.be/r/t/1/id/9846796
A little while time ago, when sun still strolled over her face while she was seated on the terrace, her thoughts wandered off to higher realms ...
She felt transported into the sky, like a bird, observing what happened below her inviting her to give some thought on which direction she would go for in future.
There, a bit higher, above the Earth, the extraordinary sense of freedom overwhelmed her... no ties, no boundaries whatsoever ... making room for the feeling the world is at reach and everything is possible.
She enjoyed intense emotion of the moment and was engulfed in a cloud of wild impressions and opportunities. Freedom gives you wings to achieve the ultimate dreams she thought, freedom is the base to prosperity for all. Freedom to make choices, freedom not to make choices. Freedom to do business, freedom to undergo.
Freedom to color inside or outside the lines ... as you chose.
Because freedom goes along with making choices. And chosing is not always easy.
Freedom requires responsibility, you undergo the consequences of the options you went for.
And thus, not so surprisingly, it is often easier not to choose but to undergo, watching your freedom pass by.
While there, floating, in the absolute sense of freedom, suddenly it hits her ... based on what, one reserves himself the right to limit the freedom of another?
That’s the real challenge of the society. The sum of the individual freedoms equals a regulated environment. To safeguard the freedom of everyone. Because freedom of the one stops where freedom of another begins.
It is the kind and the degree of regulation that defines the quality of life and the experience of freedom within communities.
A non-coherent overregulated society leads to constriction. Whether it’s left, right or hybrid tinted. It's a question of accurate balance. It comes to the subtle equilibrium between the freedom nurturing progress, and the regulation assuring the foundations of society.
The Earth is our heritage. Much like castles and their estates noble families cared for cross time boundaries. Your role is to take care of this heritage as a good family man, enabling next generations to live a balanced future in full awareness to leave what was passed on them to the next generations, in good, maybe even better shape.
Circling in the sky, observing the landscape, she’s more conscious than ever that if one was fully aware of the fact no one owns a piece of Earth, but everyone has the right to stay and to manage his piece in good condition to pass on to the next generations, it would make a huge difference.
Property works restrictive. Based on what, can someone be entitled to claim a piece of Earth, whether or not he manages well and why should another one not have the right to claim his part?
She dreams on and comes to the utopian solution ... abolish borders, no States; in this global world, we should go for a global citizenship ... allow one to color his identity as hybrid as he wants, with only one basic rule: the respect of the authenticity and the freedom of the other one.
The Sun is setting, it's time to land and return within the ranks of the regulated environment. It's time once again to submit to the rules of the society ... What were they again? Which set of rules? The ones of the French community? The Flemish ones? The Belgian rules? The European ones? The Christian rules? ... confused, she tries to find her way in the tangle ... and to behave as expected ... or about what’s expected.
In silence, thinking about her experience in the Sun, the air, the heights she nurtures her dream of freedom ... for everyone.
